A New Song

There is a lesson of truth
In the bond of the Agent
You can't avoid it's rule
But the pain is latent
Hiding in the bubble of imagination
I'm screaming for a way
To get out of this station
I must push forth
Latch onto this windstream
Make waves and punch through
This filtered window screen
So much shame attached
To every failure
Paralyzing the healing
Searching for a cure
Circles of guilt and abuse
Can't seem to find
The right drug to use
Capture me in your arms somehow
Yet you are crippled too
So we both fall down
I must buckle my knees
And stand strong
Grab the notes by the balls
And sing a new song

So, I've taken a little break from writing, to complete a manuscript of my recent work.  I submitted the damn thing to a contest and am still awaiting the results.  I've never completed a full book before and am quite proud; however, it needs much work. I submitted what I could, albeit a complete book; but not fully refined.  With a solid piece of work on my hands, I now have something to carve.  I also finished my latest journal.  For those of you that know me, I have shelves full of journals.  As of late, most of what I post on this here blog comes straight from the heart and is not transcribed from said journal.  As an artist, I think we like to work in various mediums.  I would never do a collage with magazines, then copy it with pastels.  For those of you that helped with my manuscript, I am greatly indebted.  Many of you have supported my work for so many years and without your continued praise, love and encouragement, I don't think I'd have had the courage to continue with the poetry.  My dear late brother Benjamin once told me to never stop writing; and I intend to publish this book, one way or another.  So, onto new projects, new journals, new times, and a new season.  I welcome as much feedback and comments as you can give or care to share, as it helps me refine the works, and my approach so I have a better chance at reaching readers authentically.  After all, we share the same human conditions, I'm just here to weave a thread through a few of them.  Thank you, as always, for reading.
